Sofía Castillo is a Hedge Fund Manager at BX+, responsible for developing multi-asset investment strategies, overseeing risk management, and identifying global market opportunities. Under her leadership, the team has excelled in macro hedge and long/short equity strategies, consistently ranking among the top performers in Mexico’s annual return rankings.

Sofía joined BX+ in 2014 as a Quantitative Analyst, focusing on the development of derivatives and interest rate trading models. She was later promoted to Portfolio Manager and went on to become one of the youngest fund leaders in the firm. Prior to BX+, she worked as a trader at Citibank Mexico, gaining extensive experience in foreign exchange and fixed income trading.

She holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Applied Mathematics and Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and earned her Master’s in Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Sofía is a certified member of the Mexican Association of Financial Analysts (AMIB) and currently serves as the Digital Quantitative Trading Collaboration Associate between BX+ and Stifel. In her free time, she enjoys scuba diving, tennis, and contemporary dance.
